Modeling Lab Represents Lahore School at AEI–ASEM Summer School in Kuala Lumpur

The ITC Modeling Lab delegation participated in the AEI–ASEM Summer School and Student Symposium 2025 at the Asia-Europe Institute (AEI), Universiti Malaya. The event brought together academics, policymakers, and students from across Asia and Europe to discuss sustainable governance, regional cooperation, and macroeconomic transformation.

The delegation—comprising Ms. Amna Noor Fatima, Ms. Sara Qasim, and Ms. Anoosha Liaqat—was welcomed by Dr. Adil Johan (Deputy Executive Director, AEI). Dr. Moazam Mahmood, Senior Research Fellow at the Lab, joined the proceedings virtually. The symposium opened with keynote addresses by Prof. Rajah Rasiah and representatives from the ASEM Education Secretariat, emphasizing the importance of deepening Asia–Europe academic linkages.

The Modeling Lab delivered a dedicated 90-minute session, chaired by Prof. Rasiah, where they presented their macroeconomic modeling framework as a tool for sustainable regional cooperation.

Sessions throughout the week covered topics including energy transitions, gender and education, corporate sustainability, and cultural narratives in governance. The delegation also took part in a policy dialogue at Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education, exploring how universities can support regional integration.

This international engagement positioned the Lahore School of Economics within ongoing global policy conversations and opened avenues for collaboration between AEI and the Modeling Lab on regional macroeconomic initiatives.
